Every nonprofit leader knows the feeling.
You're juggling day-to-day operations, responding to immediate needs, managing staff and volunteers, pursuing funding opportunities, and doing everything possible to advance your mission. At the same time, there are important organizational challenges and opportunities that often get pushed to the back burner.
Maybe your strategic plan is nearing its expiration date, and it’s time to re-assess the efficiency of your programs. Perhaps you're navigating shifts in the funding landscape and exploring new revenue strategies. Maybe you're looking to strengthen board engagement, improve internal alignment, refine your messaging, or build systems that position your organization for long-term growth.
The challenge isn't knowing these priorities matter. It's finding the time, capacity, and expertise to tackle them.
That's where Amplified comes in.
What Is Amplified?
Amplified Impact Partners connects nonprofits with highly experienced professionals who volunteer their expertise through structured, pro bono consulting engagements.
Our Partners bring decades of leadership experience from both the nonprofit and corporate sectors, offering practical guidance and strategic support to help organizations strengthen their operations, build capacity, and increase their impact.
Rather than providing one-size-fits-all recommendations, our teams work alongside nonprofit leaders to understand their unique challenges and co-create solutions that can move their organizations forward.
We work with dozens of San Diego nonprofits every year, of all shapes, sizes, and issue areas. Now we're preparing to launch another round of nonprofit consulting engagements, with applications being accepted through July 20 and project teams beginning work in October.
But how do you know whether your organization is ready to benefit from this kind of support?

Signs the Timing May Be Right
Not every organization needs consulting support at every stage. The most successful engagements happen at an “inflection point,” when there is a clear opportunity to strengthen the organization and an ability to invest time in the process.
You may be ready for a pro bono consulting engagement if:
You Have a Specific Challenge or Opportunity to Address
Our consulting projects are custom tailored to the needs of each organization, and designed to meet you where you are. While every engagement is different, common focus areas include:
Strategic planning and organizational alignment
Revenue diversification and funding strategy
Board development and governance
Communications and messaging
Leadership development
Operations and systems
Program effectiveness
People and culture
In short, if there's an organizational challenge that is limiting your effectiveness — or an opportunity that could help you reach the next level — an Amplified team may be able to help.
You're Looking Beyond Immediate Needs
The strongest engagements often occur when leaders are ready to step back from the daily demands of running the organization and focus on strengthening the organization itself.
This means creating time and space to think strategically, explore new approaches, and invest in solutions that can create lasting impact long after the project concludes.

You're Open to New Ideas and Perspectives
Our Partners bring diverse experiences, fresh perspectives, and proven expertise. The organizations that gain the most from an engagement are those that embrace collaboration, welcome thoughtful coaching, and are willing to explore new ways of approaching challenges.
You Value Collaboration
One of the most rewarding aspects of an Amplified engagement is the relationship itself.
Our Partners aren't simply advisors delivering recommendations from a distance. They become thought partners who work alongside nonprofit leaders, ask important questions, share lessons learned, and help organizations build momentum.
Many nonprofit leaders tell us that the relationships formed during an engagement are just as valuable as the project outcomes themselves.
Looking for Faster Support?
Not every challenge requires a six-month engagement.
For organizations facing a more immediate need, Amplified also offers Flex Teams—an accelerated, eight-week consulting model designed to provide practical solutions on a focused area of support.
Flex Teams are ideal for organizations seeking guidance in real time and looking for a structured, high-impact engagement with a clearly defined scope.
Our Projects Tend to Be the Best Fit When...
While every organization is unique, our engagements are generally most successful when:
The Executive Director or CEO has a strong understanding of the organization's operations and strategic priorities.
The organization has at least two full-time employees and annual revenue of approximately $500,000 or more.
The organization primarily serves the San Diego community.
The organization is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit or has a fiscal sponsor.
Leadership has the capacity and commitment to participate actively throughout the engagement.
The organization is at an important inflection point where outside expertise could help strengthen sustainability, growth, or long-term impact.
These aren't rigid requirements. Rather, they're indicators that an organization is positioned to make the most of the experience and implement the recommendations that emerge from the work.
