DIANE COX

Diane Cox is an accomplished leader with a diverse background spanning education, wellness, business, and philanthropy. After starting her career as a high school English teacher, she spent fifteen years immersed in the study of Zen Buddhism and Polarity Principles, during which she served as Secretary in a Zen Monastery and Public Relations Director for a prominent health resort.

Moving to San Diego, Diane transitioned into a highly successful 25-year career as a title insurance sales executive in the Del Mar/Rancho Santa Fe area. There, she was celebrated for her innovative approach and exceptional market share growth.

In 2003, Diane joined Amplified founding member Louarn Sorkin as co-founder of Just in Time for Foster Youth (JIT), where she was instrumental in the organization's growth. In her various leadership roles as Board Vice Chair, Board Chair, and later as Development Director and Chief Sustainability Officer, Diane was key to increasing JIT’s annual revenue from $20,000 to $7 million. She is a co-founder of the JIT Coach Approach and leader of the Coach Approach to Mentoring trainings at Just in Time.

A committed community leader, Diane has been a member of SDSVP/Amplified Impact Partners since 2018 and serves as Vice Chair of MAKE Projects, a former Amplified investee. She is also a co-author, along with her husband Don Wells, of the book "Life Changing Choices: The 7 Essential Choices at the Heart of Transformational Change for Foster Youth and Your Community."

Drawing on her extensive experience, Diane leads StrategyWhys, where she offers purpose-driven coaching and strategic consulting to nonprofit leaders. She is also an avid learner, reader, golfer, and outrigger canoe paddler. Diane and her husband have four children and five grandchildren.
