STEVEN RATOFF

Steven Ratoff is a finance executive with deep experience across public accounting, Fortune 500 leadership and private investing. Trained as an accountant, he began his career in public accounting at Arthur Andersen before spending nearly 20 years at Bristol Myers Squibb, culminating as chief financial officer of the newly combined pharmaceutical businesses. He later served six years as CFO of Brown-Forman. After that, Ratoff became a private investor and CEO of four small pharmaceutical companies, leading each with the goal of building and selling the business. He is now retired.

Ratoff has served on two hospital boards, in Philips Manor, New York, and Louisville, Kentucky. He has also held board roles at the University of Arizona, supporting both the Eller College of Management and the College of Fine Arts, and served as a board member and finance chair of the Tucson Museum of Art. Since moving to San Diego, he is not currently serving on any boards.

Ratoff earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Boston University and an MBA with distinction from the University of Michigan. He is a retired certified public accountant.

Outside of work, Ratoff is an art collector and a Broadway theater fan, and he enjoys sculpting as a hobby.
