SHARON RISSE

Sharon Risse is an accomplished professional with experience in communications and event leadership in the corporate sector, and fundraising and grant management in the nonprofit sector. Her career has centered on research, analysis, process improvement, and donor retention. Risse thrives on collaborating with teams to bring ideas to life, from writing and reporting to event planning and donor engagement. She especially enjoys developing strategies to strengthen donor relationships and create meaningful opportunities for engagement. She currently serves as an Analyst with EFS Engineering, supporting local infrastructure planning. Previously, she was the Grant Manager for Nativity Prep Academy, where she researched and authored dozens of successful proposals each year, helping secure more than $400,000 to sustain vital student programs.

Risse is dedicated to sharing her time and expertise with youth- and community-focused organizations. She has volunteered in communications, fundraising, and outreach roles, and has served in various board capacities for several nonprofit organizations.

A San Diego native, Risse earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of California, San Diego. She also holds a Meeting Planning Certificate from UC Extension and has completed multiple professional development courses in nonprofit management. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in leadership studies at the University of San Diego.

Risse and her husband live in University City and are the proud parents of three adult children. Risse enjoys traveling, reading, hiking, yoga, and watching baseball, and believes every day is better after a walk on the beach.
