DANA SMULLYAN
Associate, Engagement Management & Outreach

Dana is a former strategy and operations consultant for Ernst and Young's Parthenon division, with a focus on process efficiency, digital transformation, and organizational change. She has led large-scale initiatives across private and nonprofit sectors, helping organizations align people, technology, and workflows to drive lasting operational improvement.
Dana began her career as an analyst at JPMorgan, spending six years on the Capital Introduction team within Prime Brokerage, facilitating connections between hedge fund clients and institutional investors, supporting capital-raising efforts and investor strategy.
Before transitioning to management consulting, Dana held dual leadership roles at Ice Hockey in Harlem, a nonprofit serving underserved youth through sports, education, and mentorship. She oversaw communications, fundraising events, and operations; secured grants and sponsorships; and co-managed enrichment programs for students.
Dana earned an MBA from Columbia Business School, with a focus on social enterprise and a BS from Union College with a focus on political psychology.
A former Division I ice hockey goaltender and certified surf therapy coach, Dana has a longstanding commitment to youth empowerment and mental health through sport. She has coached and mentored young people through sports-based empowerment programs, using surfing, ice hockey, and soccer as vehicles for connection, growth, and healing.
Dana moved to San Diego two years ago after living in New York City for 17 years and Costa Rica for two, and she enjoys surfing, golf, live theater, and taking advantage of San Diego’s sunshine and nature.
